What Are Your Pressure Valves?
Your valves control the air that enters your ride’s suspension system. By inflating and deflating the bellows, these small pieces help control your car’s height and adapt to any road conditions.
To achieve this, you’ll find two different types of pressure valves:
Pressure Retaining Valves
Just as the name implies, these keep your air pressure constant and your pulsations balanced. This ensures your air springs/ air struts receive the minimum amount of pressure needed to function.
Pressure Holding Valves
These valves prevent air pressure from leaving your air suspension system in an uncontrolled manner.
Why Should You Replace Your Pressure Valves?
Over time, your valves can break or deteriorate. This means your air struts no longer hold the air pressure they need to function.
The short-term problem involves your car riding lower to the ground than it should. But, prolong this issue, and you’re looking at your air compressor failing from overworking. And that’s some extra dosh you’ll need to spend on another replacement. Not fun, to say the least.
